In 1987, Simon P. O'Leary founded Atlas Watersystems, establishing a company focused on providing water purification systems for commercial businesses in New England. The company built its reputation by designing, installing, and servicing high-purity water systems for a range of clients, including industrial and food service companies. A key development occurred in 1999 when Atlas merged with Aqua Tech Water Systems, a company founded by Mark St. Hilaire in 1989. This merger was a strategic combination of Atlas's commercial expertise with Aqua Tech's strength in the residential market, creating a more comprehensive water systems provider in the region. The company's journey entered a new phase in June 2014 when it was acquired by Quench USA, a national provider of filtered water solutions. This acquisition provided a national platform for Atlas's services and integrated its commercial operations into Quench's larger network, with founder Simon O'Leary joining the Quench management team. However, the story of the residential division took another turn shortly after. In October 2014, Mark St. Hilaire, along with his team, purchased the residential systems group back from Quench, forming a new, independent company called H2O Care, Inc. This event allowed the former residential arm of Atlas to refocus on its core market while the commercial and high-purity water operations remained part of Quench.
