Atizo
Crowdsourcing platform for corporate open innovation challenges.
Atizo AG was a Swiss company specializing in open innovation and crowdsourcing services. Founded in 2008 by Daniel Krebser and Adrian Gerber, the firm operated an online platform where companies could post innovation challenges to a large community of solvers. This community, which grew to over 25,000 innovators, would submit ideas, provide feedback, and collaborate on developing concepts into marketable solutions.
The business model centered on providing this internet-based brainstorming platform as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). Companies would define a challenge and offer a reward, and Atizo's platform facilitated the process of idea generation, evaluation, and selection. The service was designed to give clients access to fresh perspectives, helping them shorten development times and better align products with market needs. Atizo served a range of well-regarded clients, including BMW and Swisscom.
Initially, Atizo developed its own software but later evolved into a management consultancy, focusing on guiding clients through the open innovation process. This shift led to a migration of their platform to technology from HYPE Innovation in 2017, to better serve their customers with a more professional and robust software solution while they focused on consulting. Subsequently, Atizo was fully integrated into its partner and became HYVE Switzerland, combining its local market expertise with HYVE's broader international capabilities in areas like user research, industrial design, and digital innovation.
