LivCo Inc., formerly known as ASEAN HOUSE Inc., was established in July 2021 by CEO Shotaro Sasa. Sasa's journey began after being inspired during his university travels in Southeast Asia and his time working for Recruit. He first established a share house in Tokyo for Southeast Asians and Japanese people to live together before incorporating LivCo.
LivCo operates as an immigration solution platform with the mission of creating a society where foreigners can live comfortably in Japan. The company addresses Japan's significant labor shortage by facilitating the employment of foreign nationals, while also tackling unemployment issues in developing countries. The business model is centered around a global HR platform that matches foreign job seekers with Japanese companies in sectors like food service, nursing care, manufacturing, and hospitality. LivCo has established relationships with over 200 companies, including major brands like Matsuya and Ginbis, and has placed over 450 individuals.
Beyond recruitment, LivCo provides a comprehensive suite of services to support the entire lifecycle of a foreigner in Japan. This includes a real estate service specializing in foreigner-friendly properties, life support services such as assistance with bank accounts, and a media platform offering information on living and working in Japan. A key component of its operations is a Japanese language school (LPK) in Bandung, Indonesia, which offers a six-month, full-immersion program designed to produce a work-ready talent pool. The company differentiates itself through its deep understanding of the foreigner's perspective, with a diverse team where 40% of employees are foreign nationals.
