Ark Capital Partners is a hotel investment group established in 2021 by co-founders Mark Bullock and Rahul Parrab. The firm, based in Sydney, Australia, provides an institutional-grade investment and operating platform for investors focused on the hospitality real estate sector in the Asia-Pacific region. The founders bring extensive experience to the venture; Parrab has over two decades in hospitality and real estate, while Bullock also has 20 years of experience, including a role as Managing Director for Radisson Hotel Group in Australasia. They are joined by founding member Ben Kleimeyer and director Sarah Townson, who adds over 20 years of expertise in hospitality strategy and design.
The company's core business involves sourcing, securing, and repositioning underperforming hotels to deliver superior risk-adjusted returns for its capital partners. Ark Capital Partners implements tailored strategies for each acquisition, which can include repositioning, rebranding, and significant capital expenditure to enhance the asset's value, followed by active asset management. Their portfolio includes projects such as the acquisition and repositioning of the Melbourne Place Hotel (now Hyde Melbourne), Hotel X Brisbane, and Hyde Perth. Since its inception, the firm has deployed over A$350 million in strategic acquisitions and value enhancements.
In a significant milestone, ASX-listed alternative investment manager Regal Partners acquired a 50% stake in Ark Capital Partners in June 2025 for A$3 million. This partnership provides Ark with access to a broader range of capital options and resources, strengthening its infrastructure and market reach. Concurrent with the acquisition, Regal purchased the Mayfair Hotel in Adelaide for A$75 million, which will serve as the seed asset for the new Regal Partners Australian Hotel Opportunities strategy, managed by Ark.
