The core of Apaja's business was an app-based portal that provided comprehensive public transport information. The service allowed users to search for transportation routes, access real-time train schedules, and receive estimated times of arrival. A notable feature was the ability to check how crowded a particular station was, addressing a common pain point in urban transit. The application would present users with map data, estimated journey duration and distance, and fare information.

Apaja's business model centered on providing this information through its mobile and web applications. For wider integration, the company also developed an API that allowed third-party developers to incorporate Apaja's transportation data into their own applications. The venture secured a single seed funding round in October 2015 from the investor Indigo for an undisclosed amount. According to industry data, the company is now considered deadpooled and is no longer in operation.
