Anolytech, founded in 2005 by Stefan Fischlein, provides a technology for on-site production of a disinfectant solution. The company's origin traces back to a challenge in agriculture: ensuring bacteria-free drinking water for animals without using chemicals or antibiotics. Fischlein, alongside his brother Hans, initially explored using hypochlorous acid to treat inflammation in dairy cows. They discovered its potential for water disinfection but faced inconsistencies. The breakthrough came when Stefan Fischlein developed a machine that precisely controls the pH level of the solution to 6.5, creating a stable and highly effective disinfectant called AnoDes.

The company’s journey involved significant challenges, including a bankruptcy in 2017 after the founder's departure in 2013 due to strategic disagreements with new management. Fischlein bought back the company in the same year, rebuilding it with former employees and restoring its profitability and technical reliability within months. In 2021, Sandra Lindström took over as CEO, allowing Fischlein to focus on product development and international expansion. A major milestone occurred in 2022 when the publicly traded investment company Latour became a minority shareholder, providing capital and an industrial network to support further growth.

Anolytech's business model is centered on a subscription or leasing service for its proprietary system. This model provides customers with an on-site machine that produces AnoDes using only water, salt, and electricity. Revenue is generated through a monthly fee that covers the machine, installation, service, spare parts, and a performance warranty, eliminating the need for a large upfront investment from the client. This circular process provides a continuous supply of disinfectant, reducing the handling of hazardous chemicals, transportation, and packaging waste. The company serves a diverse client base across Europe, including agriculture, the food industry, manufacturing, hotels, real estate, and the public sector.

The core product, AnoDes, is a pH-optimized hypochlorous acid solution. It is produced through electrolysis and effectively eliminates bacteria, viruses, spores, mold, and fungi, and prevents the growth of biofilm in water systems. Because it is produced on-site and reverts to water and biodegradable material after use, it is considered environmentally friendly. The technology's applications are broad, ranging from disinfecting drinking and process water to use as a gentler alternative to alcohol-based hand sanitizers and for surface and airborne room disinfection.
