The story of Amper begins in post-war Spain with Antonio Peral Hernández, a telecommunications engineer. In 1956, alongside his wife, he founded Amper Radio S.L., a company dedicated to manufacturing intercoms. The business quickly found its footing, becoming a key supplier for the Compañía Telefónica Nacional de España. By the 1960s, Amper had scaled up to mass production of radio and intercom devices. A major turning point occurred in 1982 when, following the founder's death, the Spanish telephone company Telefónica acquired full control of Amper, making it its primary equipment supplier. This set the stage for Amper's next chapter. In 1986, the company went public, listing on the Madrid and Barcelona stock exchanges, which opened the door to new shareholders and partnerships. The liberalization of the telecommunications market in the 1990s forced Amper to diversify its client base and focus on the broader information technology sector. Throughout the 2000s, Amper continued to evolve through strategic acquisitions, expanding its footprint into new markets and technologies. Today, Amper is a multinational group focused on technology and industrial solutions in sectors like Defense, Security, Energy, and Telecommunications, a significant transformation from its origins in a small Madrid workshop.
