In 2004, in the French city of Limoges, founder Stephane Dellier started AMCAD Engineering as an engineering services company. The firm focused on a highly specialized niche: providing measurement, modeling, and design solutions for radio frequency (RF) and microwave components and circuits. AMCAD’s core business was helping clients optimize their designs and reduce time-to-market by offering precise modeling based on unique measurement data. The company developed a suite of software tools including IVCAD, VISION, and IQSTAR, which became central to its offerings. This focus on specialized software allowed AMCAD to build deep expertise in its field. The company's journey included a couple of grant funding rounds, receiving $55.5K from the European Union and EIC Fund in May 2020. A significant turning point came in June 2024 when the French technology giant Dassault Systèmes acquired AMCAD Engineering. The acquisition integrated AMCAD into Dassault's SIMULIA brand, which specializes in simulation solutions. As part of the deal, AMCAD's software business was absorbed by Dassault, while its hardware unit was spun off into a new, separate company, AMCAD SAS, ensuring a continued partnership for hardware and software compatibility. This acquisition marked the culmination of two decades of focused work, transitioning AMCAD from a niche service provider to a key component of a global technology leader's portfolio.
