Alper Consultoria e Corretora de Seguros S.A. is a Brazilian insurance brokerage firm specializing in corporate risk management, benefits consulting, and both B2B and B2C insurance solutions. Founded in 2010 as BR Insurance Corretora de Seguros SA, the company was renamed Alper in 2016. It has grown to become one of the five largest insurance brokers in Brazil through a strategy of acquiring and integrating other brokerage firms to expand its coverage. The current CEO is Marcos Couto.
The company's business model transitioned from a franchise system to a fully vertical model, operating as a single entity with a unified brand and culture. Alper's growth has been significantly fueled by a robust mergers and acquisitions strategy, having completed over 65 acquisitions since its inception. In late 2023, private equity firm Warburg Pincus launched a successful public tender offer for control of the company, and by early 2024, held nearly 75% of the shares, leading to the company's application to delist from the stock exchange.
Alper offers a comprehensive portfolio of insurance products, including corporate benefits, health, life, transport, agribusiness, civil liability, and auto insurance for both individual and corporate clients. The firm operates through several business units, including Corporate Risks and Reinsurance, Transportation and Logistics, and Benefits, which alone manages over 1.4 million lives. The company has embraced technology, launching digital platforms like Dr. Alper for telehealth services and VC+Seguro for online personal insurance policy purchases. The firm also fosters partnerships through its Alper Network, which consolidates its programs for partner brokers and business referrers to enhance operational efficiency.
