ALIKALEO PARK

Alikaleo Park is a children's clothing brand that provides everyday activewear with built-in UPF 40+ sun protection. The company was launched in late 2023 by the husband-and-wife team, Alx and Sarah Kawakami. The founders come from a long lineage of apparel creation in Hawaii; Alx's family established the alohawear company Iolani Sportswear in 1953. The inspiration for Alikaleo Park came during the COVID-19 lockdowns while the couple spent more time outdoors with their two sons, Alika and Kaleo, which also inspired the company's name.

Designed in Hawaii, the brand's core products include colorful shirts, shorts, play pants, and hats made from super-soft fabrics. A unique aspect of the brand is its use of vintage prints from the Iolani Sportswear archives, which are repurposed and redesigned for a new generation. The clothing is intentionally oversized to allow for longer wear between sizes, aiming to last for two years of a child's growth. In addition to apparel, the company offers accessories like stackable snack containers designed for convenience during family outings. Alikaleo Park's business model is direct-to-consumer through its website and also distributes through various retail stores across Oahu and one on Kauai.
