AI2B S.r.l. is an accredited spin-off of the University of Bari Aldo Moro, established in April 2024. The company was founded by a team of seven, including five computer science professors from the university—Pierpaolo Basile (CEO), Giovanni Semeraro, Marco de Gemmis, Pasquale Lops, and Cataldo Musto—and two experts in edutainment, Vincenzo Russo and Marco Cataldi. Their combined expertise aims to transition artificial intelligence from academic research to practical applications for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and public administration.

The firm operates on two main fronts: technological consulting and edutainment. The consulting division focuses on integrating AI solutions into business and administrative processes, specializing in the creation of custom AI models, including advanced language models and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) agents, tailored to specific client needs. This involves adapting large language models for particular domains and developing smart recommender systems. The edutainment branch designs contests, hackathons, and educational formats to promote the conscious use of AI among students and companies. These events serve as a bridge between academia and industry, helping businesses with talent recruitment and team building.

AI2B provides custom AI-driven automation, data analysis, and process optimization to enhance operational efficiency. Although a young company, it has garnered interest from major multinational corporations and collaborates with international organizations.
