AHP Billing Services, Inc. provides outsourced medical billing and practice management services for hospital-based and office-based physicians across the United States. The company traces its origins to Anodyne Health Partners, which was founded in 2003 by former executives of Per-Se Technologies. Anodyne Health initially offered both revenue cycle management and a business intelligence tool for visualizing billing data.

A significant turning point occurred in October 2009 when athenahealth acquired the business intelligence portion of Anodyne Health Partners. Simultaneously, the outsourced billing and coding business was spun out into a separate entity, AHP Billing Services, Inc., which was led by CEO Lee Larson. This newly formed company continued to serve physicians from its operations center in Falmouth, Maine.

The company's business model is centered on managing the complex reimbursement process for healthcare providers, allowing them to focus on patient care. AHP specializes in several medical fields, including pathology, radiology, cardiology, and behavioral health. By handling the entire revenue cycle, from claims submission to collections, the firm aims to speed up the reimbursement from third-party claims and patient payments, thereby maximizing revenue and reducing administrative costs for its clients. Just a few months after its formation as an independent entity, AHP Billing Services was acquired by AdvantEdge Healthcare Solutions (AHS) in March 2010. The acquisition was intended to expand AHS's service offerings and its presence in the New England region. Following the acquisition, Lee Larson was appointed to serve as Senior Vice President and head of AHS's New England operations, and the existing 100 employees of AHP joined the AHS team.
