Ahgora Sistemas, a Brazilian HR technology firm, has carved a niche in the Human Capital Management (HCM) sector by providing real-time, data-driven solutions for people management. Founded in Florianópolis in 2009 by Lázaro Malta, the company was established to transform HR processes with live, actionable data. Lázaro Malta, a telecommunications and electronics engineer with a global background, including projects at Siemens in Germany and as Director of Technology at Dígitro, brought extensive experience in developing innovative technological projects to his role as CEO.
The company's strategic pivot to a Software as a Service (SaaS) model in 2010 made its solutions more scalable and accessible, establishing it as a key player in the market. An early milestone was a private equity investment from Invest Tech in August 2016, which was aimed at national expansion. The firm operates on a subscription-based model, offering a suite of cloud-native products to small, medium, and large enterprises, as well as government bodies. Its client base exceeds 18,000 companies across various sectors in Brazil.
Ahgora’s product portfolio is designed to automate and streamline the entire employee journey. Key offerings include 'Pontoweb' for timekeeping with AI-validated facial recognition, 'Leader' for team management, and solutions for access control, task management, and vacation planning. The platform converts data on employee presence, productivity, and access into strategic insights, enabling HR departments to become more efficient and data-oriented. In 2021, Ahgora expanded its HCM ecosystem by acquiring Velti, a time and access management software company, and WebTraining, an e-learning platform, for a total of R$30 million. This same year, it became the first Brazilian SAP Partner in the Time & Attendance segment.
A significant turning point occurred on January 12, 2023, when TOTVS, a leading Brazilian technology company, acquired Ahgora's software operations for R$380 million. This acquisition integrated Ahgora's HR solutions into TOTVS's extensive portfolio, aiming to provide a comprehensive digital journey for employees and enhance cross-selling opportunities. Before the acquisition, Ahgora demonstrated strong financial performance, with an average annual revenue growth of approximately 45% between 2019 and 2022.
