Aeditive is a German startup that operates in the construction industry, specifically in the concrete sector. The company has developed a unique 3D printing solution for concrete component manufacturing, which eliminates the need for formwork, a temporary mold into which concrete is poured. This process, known as Robotic Shotcrete Printing (RSP), is based on standard sprayed concrete and can produce parts up to 11x4x4 meters, including reinforcement and built-in parts.
Aeditive's business model is based on providing its equipment to clients, who are typically precast concrete factories and construction sites. The company charges its clients based on the volume of concrete used, which makes the service risk-free for clients as they only pay for what they use.
The company's software simplifies the planning and production process. Clients input parameters such as dimensions and surface options for each component into the Aeditive software. The software then calculates robot paths and process parameters. One robot applies the concrete onto a steel pallet using the RSP process, while a second robot assists by placing components such as reinforcement elements. The surfaces of the component are then robotically processed, and the pallet, along with the component, is moved out of the construction area.
Aeditive is committed to making the concrete construction industry future-proof by increasing productivity, making jobs safer and healthier, and reducing the environmental impact of concrete production, which currently accounts for 8% of global CO2 emissions.
