ADstruc operates as a technology and services company focused on the out-of-home (OOH) advertising sector. The company was founded in 2010 by John Laramie and Josh Warrum. Laramie, prior to establishing ADstruc, worked at a licensing agency, an experience that provided him with insights into brand management and advertising needs. The company developed a workflow automation software, initially called Drive, designed to streamline the complex processes of planning and purchasing traditional and digital outdoor advertising for agencies that manage this in-house.
The business model centers on its SaaS platform, which simplifies inventory discovery, proposal management, and vendor negotiations. For media owners, the platform is offered at zero cost, a model designed to encourage widespread inventory participation. For agencies and advertisers, ADstruc provides a centralized system to manage campaigns, from visualizing assets on interactive maps to tracking performance in real-time. This automation saves planners a significant amount of time, allowing a greater focus on strategy and creativity. The platform has processed over $1 billion in OOH investments and integrates with more than 1,500 media owners.
In addition to its software, ADstruc operated a managed services division known as Project X, which delivered audience-focused OOH campaigns for brands and agencies needing a full-service solution. In April 2024, Vistar Media, a provider of programmatic OOH technology, acquired ADstruc from PJX Media. This acquisition integrated ADstruc’s traditional OOH capabilities with Vistar’s programmatic solutions, aiming to offer a more holistic platform for the entire OOH ecosystem. Following the acquisition, the ADstruc engineering team and an account manager transitioned to Vistar to ensure continuity and future development. The platform is being rolled out to agencies in the US, Canada, and the APAC region.
