In 1994, a company was founded in Walpole, Massachusetts, on a simple but critical premise: what if you could guarantee clean, uninterrupted power in the most demanding environments imaginable? This was the start of Acumentrics. The company focused on building ruggedized uninterruptible power supplies, or RUPS™, for military, industrial, and commercial clients who couldn't afford failure. The core of the business is providing power that works when and where it is needed most. Their systems are engineered to withstand everything from desert heat to arctic cold, protecting sensitive electronics from power surges, blackouts, and other electrical noise. This focus made them a go-to supplier for major defense contractors and government agencies. The company's journey included strategic expansion. A key move was the acquisition of assets from Fuel Cell Technologies, which bolstered its expertise and led to the formation of Acumentrics Canada Ltd. This was part of a broader strategy that also saw the company spin out Atrex Energy to focus on remote power generators. Under the leadership of CEO John Cerulli, Acumentrics has continued to secure significant contracts, such as being added to the US Army's Common Hardware Systems-5 (CHS-5) contract, making its power solutions readily available for critical defense programs.
