In 2002, Acuity was founded with a clear mission: to provide IT consulting services to federal agencies focused on national security and public safety. Starting with just two staff members, the company began its journey to meet the mission needs of its clients. The firm specialized in offering advanced IT consulting, particularly shining in projects related to national security and public safety, and eventually served eleven of the fifteen cabinet-level agencies. The company established itself as an entrepreneurial and market-responsive entity, dedicated to delivering technical solutions. This commitment to high standards was underscored by achieving and maintaining ISO 9001:2015 certification, which emphasizes proactive quality assurance. A significant chapter in Acuity's story unfolded in October 2024, when it was acquired by CACI International in an all-cash deal. This acquisition was a strategic move by CACI to broaden its enterprise information technology offerings for defense, intelligence, and other national security clients. The combination of CACI and Applied Insight, Acuity's parent company at the time, was aimed at enhancing enterprise-wide cloud, cyber, and user productivity for secure networks within the Intelligence Community.
