Founded in 2008 by Luong Quang Thi, ABA Cooltrans is a significant operator in Vietnam's integrated cold chain logistics market. Thi, the company's Founder and Executive Chairman, established the firm after more than two decades in the logistics and cold storage industry, including management roles at Lamberet and Cora Dong Nai (Big C). His motivation stemmed from observing that Vietnam's cold chain infrastructure primarily served export markets, leaving domestic grocery retail underserved. This insight led to the creation of ABA Cooltrans, initially starting as a last-mile delivery provider for major clients like Unilever and Vinamilk.

The company's business model is centered on providing comprehensive, end-to-end "one-stop service" cold chain solutions across Vietnam. This integrated approach allows clients, which include modern retailers, food manufacturers, food and beverage chains, and pharmaceutical companies, to outsource all their temperature-controlled logistics needs to a single partner. Services span the entire supply chain, encompassing refrigerated transportation (long-haul, less-than-truckload, and last-mile delivery), cold storage warehousing, distribution, and cross-docking. Furthermore, the company offers value-added services such as labeling, custom packaging, kitting, assembly, and supply chain network modeling. A key operational focus is maintaining precise temperature control, timely delivery, and food safety, encapsulated in their commitment to "Right temperature, right time, right goods".

ABA Cooltrans has achieved notable milestones, including receiving investment from Mekong Capital in 2016, which enabled significant expansion. This was followed by the acquisition of a large cold storage unit in Hanoi in 2016 and another in Ho Chi Minh City in 2018. By 2020, the company opened its third cold distribution center. The company's infrastructure includes multiple cold storage facilities with a total capacity exceeding 40,000 pallets and a fleet of nearly 300 refrigerated trucks servicing thousands of delivery points daily. In a recent strategic move, ABA Cooltrans partnered with Selex Motors to pilot a refrigerated electric motorcycle solution, aiming to enhance last-mile delivery efficiency and sustainability.
