Founded in 2001 by Anil Chhikara and Karthik Kadampully, 24x7 Learning Private Limited was an e-learning solutions provider based in Bengaluru, India. The company specialized in offering virtual and customizable learning solutions to corporate clients, focusing on talent and leadership development to enhance workforce skills. Its offerings included Learning Management Systems (LMS), custom content development, and a library of courses. The business model centered on partnering with large and fast-growth companies to implement technology-enabled learning strategies. Clients included major corporations like Vodafone, Samsung, JP Morgan, and Infosys, among others.
Anil Chhikara, a mechanical engineer and entrepreneur, previously held leadership positions at Wipro and HCL-HP and set up Indian operations for Parametric Technology Corp and Cimatron. This background in technology and business development informed the company's strategy. Karthik Kadampully, with extensive experience in sales, operations, and the corporate training industry at companies like HCL and Hewlett Packard, served as the CEO. His focus was on aligning the company’s services with global market opportunities. The idea for the startup reportedly emerged from a conversation between the two former classmates in 2000.
Over its history, 24x7 Learning achieved significant milestones, including being recognized by Deloitte as one of the fastest-growing 500 companies in Asia for three consecutive years (2007-2009). The company successfully raised approximately $5.85 million in funding over three rounds, with its final Series A round in February 2009 led by Capital 18. In April 2021, 24x7 Learning was acquired by Skillsoft, a global corporate digital learning company, to expand Skillsoft's technology and developer portfolio in India. Following the acquisition, 24x7 Learning's operations were integrated into Skillsoft, and the company is now considered deadpooled or under liquidation as an independent entity.
